Overview: Section 4E.2 of S.L. 2024‑53 amends the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board article in Chapter 143 of the General Statutes to allow the Board to issue limited certification to retired code officials during a state of emergency. These certifications are valid for the duration of the state of emergency or twelve months, whichever is shorter.
This section became effective October 25, 2024.
