Overview: Section 4C.9 of S.L. 2024-53 authorizes the Department of Environmental Quality, when a state of emergency has been declared by the Governor due to a natural disaster, to, with the consent of the owner, operator, or landowner, issue reimbursements to contractors or third parties who are under contract with the owner, operator, or landowner for costs of cleanup and assessment of underground storage tanks.
This section became effective October 25, 2024.
