S257 - 2026 Appropriations Act. (SL 2026-41)

• Prohibits the Department of Adult Correction (Department) from selling or otherwise disposing of a prison facility until July 1, 2028, excepting prison facilities that have not been in operation since July 1, 2016.
• Repeals the Department's exemption from the general law governing the application of net proceeds from dispositions.

This section became effective July 1, 2026, and the repealed provision above applies to dispositions made on or after that date.
