Overview: Section 43.3 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) requires the Department of Transportation (DOT) to submit a detailed report to the Joint Legislative Transportation Oversight Committee and the Fiscal Research Division on disaster expenditures that qualify for federal reimbursement. This report is due no later than the end of each month.

No later than the end of each quarter, DOT must submit a summary report to the Joint Legislative Transportation Oversight Committee and the Fiscal Research Division for all disaster expenditures resulting from a disaster that occurred on or after January 1, 2016, and that qualify for federal reimbursement.

If DOT fails to submit either report within 60 days of the required submission date, the Secretary of DOT must provide an explanation for not submitting the report to the Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations and the Fiscal Research Division.

This section became effective July 1, 2026.
