Overview: Section 24.2 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) directs the State Auditor to conduct a performance audit and comprehensive facilities assessment of the Department of Adult Correction, including review of financial operations; capacity; staffing; facility conditions; and options for future maintenance, consolidation, repurposing, and other uses of correctional facilities, with a report due to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety and the Fiscal Research Division by June 30, 2027.
