Overview: Section 20.3 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) provides that persons serving as reserve law enforcement officers for the State Bureau of Investigation are considered employees of the Bureau for workers' compensation purposes while performing duties assigned or approved by the Director of the Bureau or the Director's designee.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
