Overview: Section 1.8 of S.L. 2026-61 (House Bill 268) provides that the State Treasurer and Commissioner of Labor must select their appointed members to the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina board so that at least one of each of their respective choices comes from a development tier one or tier two area.
This section became effective on July 1, 2026.
