S257 - 2026 Appropriations Act. (SL 2026-41)

• The Office of the State Auditor must conduct a financial audit of the North Carolina Veterans Home Trust Fund for the period beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2026.
• The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs must provide the State Auditor with access to all records the State Auditor deems necessary to conduct the audit.
• No later than March 1, 2027, the State Auditor must report the results of the audit to the chairs of the Senate Appropriations/Base Budget Committee, the chairs of the House Appropriations Committee, the Joint legislative Oversight Committee on General Government, and the Fiscal Research Division.
