Overview: Section 9E.24 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) requires the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Benefits (DHB), to allow Medicaid managed care entities, also called prepaid health plans, to attain and maintain accreditation through an accrediting organization of their choice that has been approved by DHB.
This section became effective July 7, 2026, and applies to contracts entered into on or after that date.
