Overview: Section 9E.20 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) updates the law pertaining to Medicaid eligibility monitoring to maintain a quarterly review, rather than a monthly review, by the Department of Health and Human Services of certain financial information that determines a Medicaid beneficiary's continued eligibility for Medicaid. Section 3C.6 of S.L. 2026-1 would have changed the frequency of review of all data sources listed in the eligibility monitoring statute from quarterly to monthly beginning October 1, 2026; however, this section restores a quarterly review only for information on earned income, unearned income, and financial resources.
This section becomes effective October 1, 2026.
