Overview: Section 9E.17 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) requires the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Benefits, to include in its contracts with prepaid health plans certain terms clarifying the expectations for prepaid health plans with regard to Medicaid cost containment.
This section became effective July 7, 2026, and applies to contracts entered into on or after that date.
