Overview: Section 24.3 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) appropriates funds to the State Auditor for the purpose of investigating waste and abuse in the Medicaid program and to assist with a performance audit related to Medicaid and the NCWorks Career Centers. It requires the State Auditor to report to the Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operation and the Fiscal Research Division and provide recommendations on these matters no later than February 28, 2027.
This section became effective July 1, 2026.
