S257 - 2026 Appropriations Act. (SL 2026-41)

This requirement applies to facility, real property, workplace, or workplace safety inspections, and applies only if the inspection by the other State or local entities is a substantially similar inspection to the one completed by DHSR and occurs within three months of DHSR's inspection.

Authorized agencies retain the authority to conduct an inspection or investigation in response to a complaint, an incident, or for certain other reasons. Authorized agencies retain the authority to conduct an independent inspection when the agency has reasonable cause to believe conditions that affect resident health, safety, and other issues have changed since a prior inspection.

This section becomes effective October 1, 2026, and applies to inspections conducted on or after that date.
