S257 - 2026 Appropriations Act. (SL 2026-41)

Overview: Section 9H.6 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) allocates the funds appropriated to the Division of Public Health (Division) of the Department of Health and Human Services (Department) for Carolina Pregnancy Fellowship (CPCF), a non-profit organization, as follows:
- $3,950,000 for grants for services to pregnancy centers in North Carolina.
- $1 million to pregnancy centers in North Carolina as grants for the purchase of durable medical equipment, training on the use of durable medical equipment, and pregnancy care training.
- $1 million to fund the CPCF Circle of Care Program.
CPCF is required to establish an application process for the grants and any pregnancy center in the State is eligible for them. CPCF is not allowed to use more than 10% of the total funds for administrative purposes, nor may it use them for sectarian or religious purposes.
CPCF is required to submit a report to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services and the Fiscal Research Division on the use of the allocated funds. The report is due by July 1, 2027, and July 1 of each odd-numbered year thereafter.
This section became effective July 7, 2026.
