Overview: Section 9H.9 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) aligns the State childhood lead dust standards with the Federal standards in the State's definition of "lead poisoning hazard" and the State's requirements for lead poisoning hazard remediation plans. For the definition and remediation plans, the lead dust level is reduced to five micrograms per square foot for floors and 40 micrograms per square foot for interior windowsills. For remediation plans, lead dust on windowsill troughs is reduced to 100 micrograms per square foot.
This section becomes effective January 1, 2027.
