Overview: Section 9F.5 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) directs the Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR), Department of Health and Human Services to adopt rules permitting direct support professionals who provide services in supervised living facilities for adults with a primary diagnosis of developmental disability to reside permanently in those facilities
DHSR must report on its progress towards implementing the changes required by this section and any legislative changes requested to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services by July 1, 2027.
This section is effective July 7, 2026.
