Overview: Section 9F.1 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) amends the definition of “smoke evacuation/filtering systems” applicable to hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers to specify that an assistant-held smoke evacuation device qualifies as a smoke evacuation/filtering system.

This section became effective July 7, 2026.
