Overview: Section 14.11 of S.L. 2026-41 (Senate Bill 257) allows the Secretary of Natural and Cultural Resources to approve the use of the North Carolina Aquariums Fund and North Carolina Zoo Fund for repair and renovation projects at aquariums-related facilities and at the North Carolina Zoological Park, respectively, for certain projects with a total cost of up to $750,000, rather than $500,000.
